Ellowyn's Kitchen Choas - Children's Book

Hey friends!

I sent out surveys to a small percentage of my backers  as a test so some of you have received that and the rest will receive that after I make sure there aren't any kinks to work out. I did already find one, though. It's not clear how to choose local pick up. So here is how you do it. On the first page where you choose your country, instead of choosing USA, choose "local pick up." Hopefull you will remember that when you go to complete your survey.

I plan to have a launch party when I have the books ready. So if you are local to Tualatin, OR and you want to join us for that, that would be a fun time to pick up your book and have some yummy treats as a "thank you" for your support. If you haven't purchased a book, yet, you can do it at the launch party!

Hey all!

Thank you all so much for your pledges and for your payments to the Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos campaign. We definitely feel the love and we are so excited to have met our goal!

Okay, here is the part where I have to admit that I was very wrong about the time it would take to complete the illustrations. This is my first book to write and to illustrate. I wanted to run the campaign in August because I thought I would be able to finish the illustrations by the end of August and then get books to everyone before Christmas. But it turns out, illustrations take much much much longer than I realized. There was also the fact that the campaign was happening during that time and I didn't realize how much of my time would be devoted to running the campaign every day.

Please know that I'm working so hard to create a beautiful book for you all. I'll try to update more often, at least on Facebook and Instagram. To be honest, after the 21 day campaign, I needed a little social media break. Haha! But I love keeping you all in the loop since you've all been so supportive.

Thank you + Next Steps

First of all, If you missed the pledge deadline, don't worry! I'm working on setting up my pre-order store so you can still place an order!

To my backers, thank you for making our project a reality! A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

Here's a quick rundown:

First, Backerkit needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).

Second, we have to find out where we need to ship them when the rewards are ready.  In about 2 weeks, we’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

Third, I have to finish the book! Hopefully you saw my update about how this is taking a bit longer than expected.

We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.     

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

Answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your crowdfunding account, the BackerKit survey link is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact me.

Yay!!!! We did it! We met our funding goal! We have the funds needed to print Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos. We are doing happy dances over here. We are overjoyed with gratitude.

We still have one little day left of the campaign so now is the time when we focus on our stretch goals. If we reach $6600 in funding, we will have enough to print physical copies of the activity book that goes along with Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos.

So if anyone is still thinking of pledging, it's not too late and we could still use the help.
